Tell us a little about you and your partner! What do you do for fun? Do you have any pets? How do you like to spend your weekends?I have been living the dream work and personal life working for Flight Centre for the past eight years and using every opportunity I can to travel around the world. Brad is a pâtissier and baker who was living on the South Coast of NSW when we met two years ago. Six months in he made the BIG move to be with me in my little country town. We have a seven-month-old puppy called, Ned. He is a Dachshund cross Kelpie and the biggest ball of energy and definitely keeps us busy. When we aren't taking him for adventures on the weekends, we are restoring and driving vintage cars.
Do you love to travel? Give us an idea of the places you’ve been, and how often you getaway.
Travel has been a huge part of my life and now I have Brad hooked. I have been to 27 countries and quite a few of those I have been to multiple times. I would say I average three to four trips a year thanks to my amazing company who has taken me around the world for conferences and Education trips every year. And, with all the deals you see constantly instore, you always end up booking yourself on one or two a year. Brad is less travelled but our bucket list of countries to see is growing rapidly. He would love to take me to his favourite place which is Sedona in Arizona and I dare say we will be bringing back old cars to work on at home. Our next plan is to buy a van and restore it so we can see more of Australia and take Ned.
What made you book a Travelshoot? Where did you get the idea?
I had seen colleagues do their own Travelshoots and thought "what an amazing idea" to actually get nice pictures while travelling. Capture those precious moments! When Brad and I planned this Europe trip, I mentioned the idea and he was sold. We picked to do it in Paris as it held a place in my heart being my first BIG overseas trip and for Brad, with his background in French pastries and bread, it was the perfect fit.
Talk us through your shoot and how it all went down! What were your favourite parts? Did you have fun?
Our shoot was great! Oksana is incredible and made us feel so comfortable. We were so worried going into it because of the whole being photographed in front of everyone near the Eiffel Tower. The best thing was that we scheduled the shoot early from 9am. Definitely, the best move. The sunlight was perfect and the crowds were very low! Oksana captured us perfectly and our pictures looked effortless and real. We laughed a lot! The shoot went by in no time, we saw a few images on the camera and we were really happy. We could not wait to get our collection in a few days.
Tell us about your favourite travel memory? What’s been the most amazing thing you’ve seen, or the place where you’ve had the most fun?
I have seen some amazing places around the world but this Europe trip would have to take the cake for us both. We saw some amazing places, ate ourselves senseless and we got engaged! Two weeks before our Traveshoot in Paris, Brad proposed on the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland.
What country or destination takes the top spot on your travel wishlist?
Wow, that's a hard one. I have a lot on my list but I am dying to get to Egypt and Jordan, and we are both keen on Canada and Alaska.
Finally, what’s your favourite shot from your Travelshoot and why do you love it?
There were too many great pictures, but Brad and I both really love this picture of us on the stairs.
