First Stop: Venice!

The Osteria Ai Pugni...

A cafe that Roland’s wife fell in love with during a visit to Venice in 2017.

When our Travelshoot photographer got in touch and serendipitously suggested it as the meeting spot for their recent family shoot, Roland knew they were in for a magical day!

Family memories captured amongst beautiful surroundings in the City of Water. What a way to kick off a family European adventure...

Hey

Hi Roland! Tell us a bit more about you and your family?
I’m originally from Austria, but have lived here in Australia for over 15 years. My wife is Australian, and we have two children aged 9 and 11. Fine Art is a huge passion of my wife’s, and she has travelled to (and adored) Venice many times to view various exhibitions and art shows. We knew we had to take the children along to experience the rich culture, architecture, and beauty.

Tell us a bit about your holiday, and what took you to Venice?
We had spent some time planning a family ‘Grand Tour of Europe’, and couldn’t think of a better place to start it! We really wanted to immerse our children into a whole new world – the canals of Venice are a long way from the familiarity of Melbourne.

How did you find the Travelshoot experience?
It was a pleasure from start to finish! The initial booking experience was seamless, and the friendly, proactive communication in the lead up to the shoot was refreshing & really appreciated. Even a last-minute change in meeting time due to scheduled rain was well managed.

Our photographer Luka connected extremely well with the children, which resulted in brilliant photos of our family that felt relaxed and genuine. He chose fantastic locations in Venice for the shoot, and gave us valuable tips & recommendations for the remainder of our stay.

Why did you think it was important to capture family holiday memories?
To mark a special and long-awaited day – the first day of our European family adventure. It was a great way to create lasting memories of a once-in-a-lifetime afternoon. We felt it was important to have quality photos, that we’d be able to display at home and could share with our friends and family.

Are you planning your own European adventure?
We can plan shoots in 90+ cities — find the Travelshoot package for you.
