Jayden tells us all about his special family holiday to Fiji, celebrating his dad's 50th birthday...
Tell us about your family! How many of you are there?
My family are country farmers from rural Victoria, there are five of them and we brought my partner along for the ride. On weekends they enjoy going to the local farmers markets, swimming and spending time with each other. My dad and his oldest daughter build metal sculptures and enter them in competitions. My partner and I like to travel quite a lot, we tend to head overseas a few times a year, whereas this was my families first time overseas.
How did you choose your getaway destination this time around?
My dad has spoken about going to Fiji for the last 10 years, and it has just never happened. He turned 50 and said screw it – let’s go! We knew this would be a great place to take the family, and the kids!
Why did you decide to arrange a family photoshoot?
My partner and I bought this photoshoot as a Christmas present for my family. They are quite sentimental people, and being their first overseas holiday we had to make sure they would never forget it.
Talk us through your Travelshoot experience and how it all went down!
It was all so simple, the photographer organised what time he would be there before we even departed Australia, he contacted us and wanted to get to know a little bit about our family. The whole experience was so amazing, the photographer was so nice and made us feel so comfortable that none of it felt staged. He just got us to act casual the whole time, and muck around which is how we ended up with some awesome photos!
What would be your advice to others thinking about booking a shoot?
Besides, DO IT? It is definitely worth every cent! Having someone come take photos of us means that no one is missing from a photo! The quality of the photos means you can get them printed in any size, anywhere!
And finally, what’s your favourite shot from your Travelshoot? Why do you love it?
HOW CAN I CHOOSE? I absolutely LOVE the ones of me tickling my sisters... The natural smiling/laughing faces you see in the pictures. Then the photos of all of us running down the beach hand in hand.
