Rising out of the desert, Dubai has truly reinvented itself as a mecca for families. Outside the allure of luxury hotels and shopping malls, lies a city packed full of attractions with out-of-this-world water parks, theme parks, desert duning, aquariums, and ski resorts (yes, you read that right). Kerry shares what it’s like to holiday in Dubai with kids in tow.
Kerry, please tell us a bit about yourself and your family?
I’m a mum of three, I have my youngest daughter, Piper, who is 4-years-old, my middle baby, Josh, who is 11-years-old, and my eldest daughter who is 20-years-old. We love to travel as a family, and just love adventure!

Tell us a bit about your holiday, and why you went to Dubai?
I have always wanted to visit Dubai. It’s been on my bucket list to go to Atlantis The Palm and stay there with the kids for a while now, and one-day last year I just saw it advertised and my husband and I thought right, let’s just do it! And we did!
It was the best decision and we adored Dubai! From the water park at Atlantis to the Land Rover safari we went on, we loved every minute of Dubai and would go back in a heartbeat.
How did you find the Travelshoot experience?
I loved the Travelshoot experience, it was such an easy process from start to finish and the photographers were an absolute dream with Piper – they perfectly captured all her smiles and playful personality.
Piper is always good when it comes to getting photos taken and often says things like “Mummy can you take my photo here so I can look at it later” and often they are the ones that turn out the best, but I was a little concerned going into this shoot as to how she would go with a new photographer and a foreign location but as always she proved me wrong and was an absolute star during the shoot – drawing quite the crowd of onlookers who also wanted to snap her photo and commenting on how gorgeous she looked!
The photographs we received were breathtaking, and exactly what we were after.
Why did you think it was important to capture family holiday memories?
Photos, in my opinion, are the best way to capture memories. It’s even better when they are captured by a professional photographer who knows all the right shoot locations, and how to get that perfect snap.
I loved that I wasn’t the one behind the lens the whole time like usual, and I was able to get some beautiful photos with my family. Dubai is such a breathtakingly beautiful place with so many stunning photo locations and this shoot was such a perfect way to keep the memories of our trip alive for years to come.
