8 QLD Valentine's Day ideas to woo your boo

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Valentine's is coming up,
You haven't got a clue.

It's that time of the year... Cupid is coming to town. Date ideas can be tricky, so we've lightened the load from your shoulders and chosen our top eight date ideas for Queenslanders. Woo your boo/bestie/dog with any of these ideas - we are sure they will love you just as much as Kanye loves Kanye.

  1. Drive-in-cinemas, Yatala

Load up your car with pillows and blankets, stock yourself up with popcorn and chocolate and charge your way to Yatala. It’s as easy as tuning your car into the right radio station and getting comfortable in the back of your car. (Oh, and not to forget channeling your inner Grease selves).

  1. Mt Coot-tha star gazing

Take that date night to new heights (literally) and score yourself a top notch view of Brisbane city without having to pay for the penthouse… Bring something to lay on and some background knowledge on constellations to really sweep her/him off her/his feet.

  1. Burleigh hill picnic

The beauty of 2018 is that picnic businesses exist, and someone will happily set up a beautiful setting, and provide platter and wine for you! Turn up, make a mess, enjoy yourself and leave… And where better else to dip and biscuit yourselves than Burleigh hill at sunset?

  1. Ice-cream and sunset on Noosa main beach

If you haven’t had a Massimo’s ice-cream, have you really even tried proper ice-cream? The answer is no, so you and your lover better get yourselves there ASAP. Lick your way down Hastings street and finish up on the beach, watching the sun fall.

You’ll feel love in places you’ve never felt before… (FYI, we are referring to the ice-cream in your stomach).

  1. Great Barrier Reef tour

Sadly this aquatic wonderland faces environmental threats, which puts a time frame on how much longer it will be around for. Woo your boo with a memory to last forever and leave astounded by the beauty of nature. The GBR caters for all kinds: whether you are experiencing the majestic destination via kayak, a hired yacht, a diving tour or a ferry, there is something for everyone.

  1. Stoney creek falls, Cairns

These ideas are all sounding great, but perhaps you have kids you need to look after too?

The beauty about Stoney Creek Falls is how it caters for all ages: children, teenagers, adults, and the elderly are all welcome. The rainforest boasts shallow and deep pools, and while you and your hunka spunk/waterfall goddess get to spend some time together, your kids can run wild in natures own playground.

  1. Hit up the Eumundi markets

This year, Valentine's Day falls on a Wednesday… Luckily, the exact day of which the Eumundi markets are alive and bumbling!  Share a salty potato slinky (or five) and run free amongst the hand-made creations. Share a few kisses too. C’mon, it’s Valentine's Day!

  1. Surf the day away at Byron

Hitting the green room and throwing a few shakas may not be your typical idea of a romantic date, but hear us out. Teaching your man/woman how to stand up can be super fun – as long as they aren’t swallowing copious amounts of salt water. You can both surf? Great! Tandem surfing it is. Head to The Pass in Byron Bay for some of the longest waves in Australia, and finish off your day with some Byron Bay Chocolate (you will not regret it).
