Do you ever go on holiday, are amazed at the breath taking beauty of the place, you are having the best time ever, running along the sand, ducking in and out of cute bakeries and want to capture the moment? You take a bunch of snaps, but when you get home, they are well... typical holiday photos, selfies, and flat and lifeless.
Well I discovered this cool company that solves that issue. They connect you with a local photographer in pretty much most countries around the world to take quality travel photos, capturing the moments you had.
Founded in 2012, Travelshoot is an Australian based company that will connect you with reputable photographers who are not only fantastic photographers, great people, but don’t break the bank. It's great for family memories, or for those solo adventures when you don't want to be that person posing with a tripod on self timer.
As a Londoner I rarely go to tourist spots, but I thought it would be fun to give it a whirl, play tourist and see what it would be like to have my own travel photographer for an hour.
So hop on board and lets go!
It was actually freezing that day, as in zero degrees c, so I had my coat on for a lot of it- well I guess it represents London quite well.
My photographer Rob, was just the most hilarious, friendly guy, who made me feel so at ease. We laughed over stories of his first professional shoot and bonded over our Northern roots.
You can either have the photographer choose locations they think would be perfect, or you can chose your own if you are going to a specific place that you want capturing- even your hotel.
It's such a great idea if you want to capture that special moment. Imagine for an engagement or honeymoon? You can do it for for 1 hour, 2 hours or 4 hours and over multiple locations. Think New York. Some in Central Park, some in Brooklyn Bridge, maybe down town near a coffee shop. The options are endless.
Plus $10 (or equivalent in the country) from every Travelshoot is donated back to a local charity. The charity for each city comes recommended by the local photographers who feel passionate about a cause in their hometown.
So why not give it a whirl on your next travel adventure: http://travelshoot.com/
