When Katy took on Venice.

To celebrate a big trip to Italy, and 9 years together, our recent client Katy made a Travelshoot in Venice look effortless! Our local photographer had some hidden laneways in mind for this couple photoshoot, and the private hidden gems were definitely worth it for the memories they created. We caught up with Katy to find out a little more about her, and why she chose to celebrate her own travel memories...

Tell us a little about you & your partner!
Tim and I have been together for 9 years. We met almost 10 years ago at a job induction on our first day for a local RSL club we worked at for a while. We have 4 cats and a dog. (I LOVE animals. If I could have more then I would haha)  We are workaholics. He works nights and weekends and I work during the day. Because we work such opposite schedules when we have time off together we often just like to relax at home with our furbabies, we are big home bodies haha but when we have the energy and time we like to go to the movies, bowling or have a night away up the coast and just chill.

Do you love to travel? Give us an idea of the places you’ve been, and how often you get away
We love to travel! Me more so than Tim haha We try to do a trip together every year or 2 however we just got back from a 5 week holiday to Europe so we wont be doing any big trips for quite a while now. Together we have been to Thailand, Canada, New Zealand, Europe and the USA. On my own I have done Kenya, Bali, Brazil just to name a few.

What made you book a Travelshoot? Where did you get the idea?
We have never had any photos taken professionally of the 2 of us which is something I have wanted to do for a while now and Matt at Infinity recommended Travelshoot as he had done one before and raved about it.

Talk us through your shoot and how it all went down! What were your favourite parts? Did you have fun?
So we did our shoot with the amazing Luca in Venice. We meet up in a less crowded part of the city and wandered around looking for hidden nooks and cranneys. It was lots of fun!! Luca made it feel so natural and fun.

Tell us your favourite travel memory? What’s been the most amazing thing you’ve seen, or the place you’ve had the most fun?
I am a huge history buff so I have loved exploring Europe, Italy and Rome especially however personally the most amazing memory I have is doing a hot air balloon ride over the Masai Mara!!! No matter how much I love history, animals are the number 1 in my life so getting to go to Kenya was a dream come true.

What country/destination takes the top spot on your travel wishlist?
Egypt. I have desperately wanted to travel to Egypt since before I can remember. I named my childhood cats after Egyptian Gods!!! Hahah

Finally - what’s your favourite shot from your Travelshoot? Why do you love it?
It's so hard because there are so many to choose from but there's one of us where it is zoomed in, Tim has his arms around me and I am laughing. I love it because it seems so natural.
