Popping the big question is a big deal. And we couldn't think of a better type of Travelshoot than capturing the moment she says 'yes'.
As Kamile looked up at the towers, Nathan quickly got down one knee and proposed in the stunning lush gardens of Singapore. So sweet...
Tell us a little about you & your partner!
Kamille and I met six years ago when I was tenpin bowling with three of my classmates from university. One of my friends invited Kamille to come along when she was on her lunch break, which is when I first met Kamille.
We currently do not have any kids or pets but we certainly will in the future once we are ready. Kamille keeps nagging me to get a dog but I keep reminding her that she won’t look after it!
We enjoy going to the cinemas on weekends to see all the latest movies. We love visiting cafés in small towns and having breakfast and a coffee together. We also enjoy getting fish and chips and eating it at a park or lake.
Do you love to travel?
We love to travel and we are always trying to save money so that we can plan holidays or road trips. We have been to the Philippines twice to visit Kamille’s family and of course Singapore where I proposed to Kamille. We don’t get away as often as we would like (mainly due to work and study commitments) but I think everyone is in the same boat with that one!
How did you come up with the idea to have a photographer when you proposed? And how were the nerves?!
When we last went to the Philippines in January and booked through Flight Centre, I put the question to Hayley (our sales assistant) that I was planning on proposing, and is there anything that she can recommend based on what I had in mind.
I said we always wanted to go to Singapore so that was the basis of the idea. The coordination and service provided by Hayley was unbelievable, and she was of great assistance. She liaised with Travelshoot and the photographer in Singapore for us and made the whole process very simple and easy.
I proposed at the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, right near the Super Trees. I was very nervous that morning and we both shed a few tears in the moment ;)
Talk us through your Travelshoot experience and how it all went down! What were your favourite parts?
Jonathan was our photographer and met us by the Gardens by the Bay in the morning. It was a great experience and we were blessed with perfect weather that day, it was apparently raining for two weeks straight before that day! From then we went to Marina Bay Sands to have some more photos there. The photo shoot involved a lot of smiling and sore cheeks at times but all in all, it was great and the photos are unreal. It was our first photoshoot together, and we really enjoyed it!
What kind of wedding do you think you’ll plan?
We will have a big wedding in Australia and we will fly some of Kamille’s family members over from the Philippines. She has a lot of family members – and we all know Filipinos love a big event! I think we will have it around the Kyneton / Woodend area in Victoria at a nice property but we’ll decide on that together. The scenery is great around that area, as it is close to Mt Macedon. We have already started saving money for the wedding so it’s only a matter of time now!
What’s your favourite shot from your Travelshoot? Why do you love it?
This was my favourite shot as it was the moment that I proposed and you can see the reaction on Kamille’s face. The moments leading up to this made for a good surprise as Kamille was looking up at the Sands Resort and turned around and I was on one knee. The view in the background is unreal, we’ll never forget it. Our photographer Jonathan was extremely professional while down to earth. He helped us through the whole photoshoot, we needed it! We highly recommend Travelshoot, and Jonathan as a photographer if you are in his area!
