Melbourne has a lot to give on a Travelshoot. Hidden laneways, vibrant graffiti, and some spots only a local photographer knows. So we caught up with client Anshula about why her and her partner chose this city for their very own Travelshoot...
Tell us a little about you & your partner! What do you do for fun? How do you like to spend your weekends?
My husband and I love to go camping on the weekends and spend time with family and friends. We love a starry night and a campfire to have long chats.
Do you love to travel? Give us an idea of the places you’ve been, and how often you get away.
My husband and I have done a lot of travelling individually before we got married and we had our first overseas trip together last year to France where I spent a whole year when I was 18. We will be going to Fiji soon with our family and then we are off to India for a year to volunteer at a few different schools. We still love our small weekends away to beautiful places around Queensland. There is nothing better than a beautiful cabin in the woods with a fire place!
What made you book a Travelshoot? Where did you get the idea?
My colleague had told me about Travelshoot and showed me some photos on your website and I was sold! I always felt like I would never have any great photos of my husband and I when we travel. It seemed such a waste to only have selfies in such beautiful cities. Photos are really important to us for our memories and I would one day love to show them to my children.
Talk us through your shoot and how it all went down! What were your favourite parts? Did you have fun?
We met up with our amazingly talented photographer from Melbourne and she really captured the beautiful laneways and stunning artwork so well! We happened to walk by AC/DC lane on the way to lunch and it was stunning so I messaged Claire straight away to see if we can change the location. She was really easy to communicate with and she really made us feel comfortable. I felt like this really helped us capture the amazing time we had on our trip.
Tell us your favourite travel memory? What’s been the most amazing thing you’ve seen, or the place you’ve had the most fun?
We absolutely love Newtown in Sydney. We traveled there to go to a Cat Empire concert and I was a bit worried based on first impressions. I was really proven wrong the longer we stayed there. We had the best food we have ever had in our lives there and there were so many hidden treasures and street music most of the time. It totally blew me away and The Cat empire were amazing to see!
What country/destination takes the top spot on your travel wishlist?
I love nature so I would love to do New Zealand and one day also do the national parks of america!
Finally - what’s your favourite shot from your Travelshoot? Why do you love it?
I love the photo below because it really captures us as a couple and showcases the essence of Melbourne. Claire really made us feel natural and I feel like she really captured how we felt being there together.
