A parental surprise in the big apple...

New York is her favourite city in the world, so it was the perfect place for Courtney to surprise her parents with the ultimate Christmas gift - the gift of memories in the big apple....

Tell us about your family! How many of you are there? Do you get together often? How do you like to spend your weekends?

Our Family is a small family of 3 and we like to get together a couple of times a month. Weekends are spent enjoying the outdoors, by the beach or a couple of casual drinks.

Why did you decide to arrange a Travelshoot in New York?

Mum had mentioned about getting a beautiful canvas of New York and as this was our first family Christmas away in sometime and we weren't doing gifts, I thought what a better way to show how much love I have for my parents than with a family photo shoot in one of the most beautiful cities. We haven't had family photos done in over 14 years and I thought it would be an experience that we could all enjoy together.

What do you love most about your shoot location?

It's New York, need I say more!!

Talk us through your Travelshoot experience and how it all went down! What were your favourite parts? Did you all have fun?

We met at a pre-arranged easy to find location and it was like we were old friends from the start. Our photographer Fernando was super friendly and gave us a little run down of what to expect from the morning. He walked us through each location and let us know if there were any certain types of photos that we wanted to let him know. We have group shots, couple shot and one on one. We spent a couple of hours walking short distances around the most photographic location in New York, DUMBO. There was a lot of smiles and laughter in the freezing cold. Even my Dad who hates photos looked like he was enjoying himself.

What would be your advice to someone considering a Travelshoot for their next holiday or getaway?

I think that it's a great idea to capture some beautiful memories, in beautiful locations whilst everyone is relaxed on holidays.
