She's one of Australia's leading entrepreneurs and one of our personal favourite girlboss's - so we were a little excited to have Taryn Williams experience her own Travelshoot in Singapore with us. Not only was her album everything we expected, but we got 5mins to ask her about everything travel....
Tell us a little about you? How do you like spending your weekends? Are we more likely to find you city living, or hanging at the beach?
I'm the founder & CEO of WINK Models & Theright.fit and when I finally get to drag myself away from the office, you'll find me living in Bronte and rarely straying from the beach! I love doing the Bondi - Bronte coastal walk, and trying out one of the many cafes we have in the east. I'm an early riser, in fact every Saturday I am part of a run club in Bronte called the 440 that starts at 5am!
Do you love to travel? Give us an idea of the places you have visited, and how often you get away…
I'm really lucky that I have got to travel a lot from a very early age. I grew up in Fiji, and got to explore a lot of the US, Europe and Asia in my late teens and early 20s. I also get to travel a lot for work, both domestically and internationally, especially as we now have an office in Singapore. My favourite places to date are India, Morocco and Vietnam. I love the smells, noises and food in countries that are so different to Australia!
Name one thing that you can’t travel without:
Good skin products. It sounds precious, but there is nothing worse than wearing makeup on holiday! So I have to travel with my La Prairie products to keep my skin in top condition so I can go makeup free.
What took you to Singapore?
Part work, part play. We have just opened an office there, and I hadnt had a break in about 6 months, so I wanted some time to explore the city as well as catching up with clients. It's such a bustling cultural hub of Asia, I really love Singapore.
What made you choose to book a shoot here? To mark something special? Or just to capture those travel memories in style?
I wanted some beautiful photos to share on social media and to capture some special moments with my friend who is living there. The views and architecture in Singapore are so gorgeous, I wanted to be able to showcase them well to my friends back in Australia.
Talk us through your Travelshoot experience and how it all went down! What were your favourite parts? Did you have fun?
The team were fantastic, matching me with a fantastic photographer who totally 'got' Singapore and knew all the best spots. We even discovered a great bar that we came back to later that night for a drink! The team were super organised, really professional, and we got our images back the same day. So seamless!
Which country/ destination takes the top spot on your travel wishlist? Why?
Oh there are still SO many places in the world I want to see! Cuba before it gets too commercial... and Oman to see the incredible mosques and experience the culture and food.
And finally, what’s your favourite shot from your Travelshoot? Why do you love it?
There is a shot of Amber and I looking out across the city, and I love that it encapsulates my trip - looking out to the future, over a new city, with someone who is so important to me, and that we are so happy and excited about everything the city holds.
