One thing was obvious when we spoke with Aaron, having small children and travelling didn't cause a worry in the world. In fact, it was quite the opposite. This family is passionate about showing their kids the world, and embracing as much culture and new experiences as possible. So it was a delight for our local Japanese photographers to work with such an excited family on a recent trip to Tokyo, and capture precious memories for this extended family on a special holiday abroad. We caught up with Aaron to find out more about his trip, and why family memories matter to him...
Let's start with who's in your Travelshoot memories from Tokyo!?
Myself, wife Helen, our two children Annabel and Larry as well as my parents Chris and Wendy.
Best thing about Tokyo with kids?
We loved our time at Disneyland as the park seemed smaller and more manageable than other parks I have been to. We also did an awesome Urban Adventure where they tailored the private tour to include lots of fun kid stuff and Japanese culture! The Kawaii Monster Cafe in Harajuku was a sensory overload and lots of fun not to be missed.
Best thing about your Travelshoot?
We would never have thought to visit the two locations our photographer scouted for us. It was just the perfect backdrop for a family shoot - that local knowledge and insight were so valuable and unique to Travelshoot. After returning home from this trip, I had a huge canvas print made from the images we received for my wife for Mother's Day. I could never have done that with my shitty iphone photos!
Why do you think family memories matter?
Both of my children regularly look through the Travelshoot photo album we received and it has cemented their memory of our time in Japan. Life is so busy, so taking time to capture family memories and reflect on them matters because it reminds us what is most important in life...time with loved ones (ideally exploring new and amazing travel locations).
